I've been put in a cage. I wish I could say that I didn't deserve my prison sentence, however, I feel as though I've earned it. You see it's my politeness that has put me here. What happens when you are a gentleman constantly? What happens when you say your pleases and thank you's and hold open the occasional door for women? Lend me your ears and I will tell you what happens. Suddenly you are "that nice guy." Oh, that label that I loathe.
It's not that I hate niceness per say. I hate the fences associated with "nice." "Nice" people don't party, they don't get wild, they don't enjoy the nightlife, they don't dance to modern music, and they don't have any real fun. "Nice" people, they stay home and knit. Well, I don't knit, I dance on tables with my drunk friends. So efff nice. I've got beef with "Nice"
Don't get me wrong, I am a gentleman. I will always strive to treat everyone with dignity and respect. But please don't patronize me. Don't assume that because I smile and use proper english that I am a Anglo-Saxon asshole whose family resembles the "Beaver" family.
I've had it with "Nice." I'm sick of this label and I'll do anything but abandon my morals to ditch it. Maybe someday I'll meet a gal who will look past the exterior "plain" Jesse long enough to see that when the work/school day ends. the leash that is my professional image comes off. I've overheard enough party invites to know that I'll never get one as the "professional." I need to cuss more, come to work drunk a few times, and have a plethora of pathetic drunk stories in order to fit in.
I apologize for the rant. Oh, wait.............. there I go again. Actually, never-mind. If you don't like it don't read it.

The Sad Truth
I thoroughly enjoy the site FML.com. I have the ipod touch application and I read them nearly everyday. They really make me laugh because sometimes life is less than ideal. But through it all it is important to smile and don't let anyone or anything take your joy. My mom said it best once when she said, "Squeeze the good out of everyday." I love my mom. There are few people who are as positive and joyful as she is. I like to think that I inherited her enthusiasm for life. Though my mom would disapprove, I definitely just posted an FML to the site. Here it is:
"today I couldn't set up my online bill-pay for my credit card because all of the security questions were related to either girlfriend or fiance/spouse. I have never had a girlfriend. I am nearly 21. FML"
Please don't misunderstand me. I am not having a pity party. I am single by choice. I refuse to settle, and I am pickier than anyone I know.
Since I've told you about FML and FML doesn't really jive with my personal views on how beautiful life is, permit me to inform you of a more positive substitute. I have two. The first is http://makesmethink.com/ and the second is http://www.givesmehope.com/
Both websites are wonderful and both really have the ability to make your day better. Check them out, they are the same format as FML.com.

Drop the World
Ever feel like you've got the world on your shoulders? I know I do. Sometimes I just want to drop it.

Song of the day
Sorry for my extended absence. I promise to post more. I have no excuse other than confused emotions. I've been working on a bunch of stuff to post though. So soon there will be tons. I'll try to at least give a song a day.

How dare you!
It is a well known fact amongst those who know me best, that I am ALWAYS early. To help you understand this fact I will run you through a typical school morning.
When I have a 7am class I will wake up at 5am. I grab my outfit that I picked out the night before and my towel and I head to the bathroom. I spend 20-30 minutes in the shower marinating. I then eat a very leisurely breakfast (what I eat is another topic for another time). During my relaxing and slow breakfast, I usually read the newspaper in its entirety. I love knowing what is going on in the world since I intend to take it over soon. If I don't have the newspaper then I read a novel of some sort. After my breakfast is done I pack my lunch and brush my teeth. I use listerine if I think I'll be talking to a particularly cute gal. I then grab my backpack which I packed the night before and I walk briskly out the door to my bike. Before unlocking my bike I grab my ipod (Aubrey) and I put on the jams. Once on my bike I am Lance Armstrong, I have no clue how to ride slowly. I usually make the mile and a half ride to campus in less than five minutes. Because I have ridden to school as though it were a race, I usually end up breathing heavily and have beads of sweat on my forehead. It is now 6:30-6:40am and class is thirty minutes from now because at Cal Poly classes start ten minutes after the hour. I feel late if I am less than 15-20 minutes early. During the 20-30 minutes before class starts I usually go to the classroom and sit down in my favorite seat. I usually sit there and think while listening to music. However, because I am all alone, I sometimes sing along if the whim arises. My other classmates don't typically arrive until 6:55-7:10am, by which time I have thoroughly sung my heart out and planned my day's activities.
If you haven't noticed, I am a creature or habit. So imagine my dismay when I arrived to class a week ago and danced my way into the classroom twenty-five minutes early only to find someone in the classroom. Imagine my consternation when I realized that this individual was in "MY" seat. Not only was I being gypped out of my personal karaoke time, but this guy was sitting in the perfect center of the classroom. The seat that I had inhabited every day prior to this unfortunate and wretched day.
There were no songs this morning. No melody could escape the clenched lips that were an upside-down half pipe on this grim morn. I sat one seat behind my new foe and proceeded to glare with all my might at my nemesis. My mal de ojo did little to persuade this villain out of his (my) perch.
I wish this story had a happy ending but unfortunately for you and I, it doesn't. Moral of the story: early bird gets the worm. And if you get up earlier than I do and sit in my seat: I will kill you.
